2022 GENERAL XP 1000 Deluxe Black Crystal is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 213.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Fun We had a 2018 General which we loved, coming from 4 wheelers. We really enjoyed the comfort and being able to ride much further without feeling the pain. We put about 4000 miles on it in 2 years without any problems. When the new 2020 XP General came out we decided to trade up. We have not been disappointed the ride is amazing. The additional features led headlights, 30 in. tires, high arched A-Arms, stereo system, have been Great upgrades. We take it out exploring every chance we get.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Ride The General is the best sxs polaris makes in my opinion. You got both worlds. I can play and use for hunting.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love the General I bought the General in May 2020 and have really enjoyed it. My only beefs are with the dealer added options. They installed the full size doors incorrectly and had the mounting brackets installed improperly. Had a heater kit installed, there was a problem with the thermostat and it kept overheating and stalling out. The dealer also didn't check the connections on the wiper kit and the wiper fluid leaked all over the radio the first time I had it out.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from To much vibration in the steering The front end/steering wheel have to much vibration for my liking. I’ve tried changing the air pressure up and down, had the wheels balanced and had my dealer do a front end alignment and it still vibrates to much for me. I believe it’s the front tires and believe if they would have just put tires like the rear ones in the front I wouldn’t have this issue or at least not as bad. The whole machine has squeaks that my old Commander never had.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Frustrating Overall a great machine. Shane that the customer experience is poor. Was asked to submit a review, yet Polaris refuses to publish as it does not meet their guidelines. Machine had to return twice to dealer with some technical issues, the latest being a recall from Polaris for which they currently don’t have a fix.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great blend of RZR enthusiasm with a cargo bed I traded in my 4 seater as I kept putting coolers and equipment in the back seat and strapping it down. Specifically got the XP1000 general to provide a spirited ride offroad like my RZR, but more practical for me with the dump bed that is preconfigured for hauling coolers, spare tire and equipment. Rides excellent, XP model is styled well so I only added a horn, side mirrors, 4pt seat belts off I went. Bullet proof reliable thus far.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome machine Really nice combo vehicle, it moves pretty good, high ground clearance, radio option is awesome, hauls stuff and is all around fun to drive. I’ve owned rangers, kabotas, bobcats and John Deere’s for the money the kubota is the best straight utility vehicle but a max speed of 25 mph. I’ve had rzrs, and a Yamaha yxz both way faster than the general for the money. But the general has the middle of the road utility and performance.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Sweet Ride, Only a Few Faults I love how comfortable the machine is and how it rides. I am pleased with the performance and how it is a multi use vehicle. Only down sides so far that I am not happy with are the belt slap issues, the door panels are separating and the Stage 4 audio system is very very disappointing. I have heard that at least the belt slap should be getting a recall, and I hope it happens soon because these have been out for a while now...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Overall Awesome Machine!! We purchased this 3 months ago to go to go riding in Colorado. It performed better than expected! We chose the General over a Ranger for the better ride quality due to my wife’s back. As a salesman, I did not think this was a very practical machine for a farm, however, after using it for some time now I can see how versatile of a machine it actually is and will definitely be recommending customers to look at this machine.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Fun little ride We noticed at the dealership a funny clicking noise when the general Was on. After taking it home and riding it the noise was still there. You guys sent us a nice letter and Polaris cups, thank you, and informed us there is a recall. So I’m happy the noise can be fixed. Otherwise I love my General very much. It’s perfect. I use it to work on my 5 acres and can take it riding with all my friends in their 4 seaters.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Overall a step up That is a step up from the regular Generals. The Walker Evens shocks are quite good. The springs are poor. By adding the front tenders from a XP4 to the rear, and moving the rear to the front makes a huge difference in lower speed chatter. I would have thought that 30" tires was good enough. But as usual the going size is 32". After the springs and 322" tires this thing eats rough rock terrain like a champ. I am always waiting on the RZR 1000XP4 and another General. At first second guessed myself if the extra green for the ride command was worth it. Actually I have enjoyed the stereo a great deal. I like having the extra gauges. As far as the GPS and other features they have no value to me. I would though like to be able to customize things like the flash screen and safety features. My 2017 General served me well for over 8000 miles and hopefully the XP will follow suit.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Nice machine Only complaints are the horrid belt slap issue which Polaris has made no effort to fix, leaving it up to the customers to fend for themselves. Sucks to go through belts at a rapid pace. Stereo doesnt work properly until changing ride command regions. Latest update has actually made peoples not work at all. Good job Polaris! If you buy one, carry a spare belt as you will need it. Great machine other than that.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very well built machine Not a lot of ride time on it yet, but have driven it around the property, and done some work. Machine performs extremely well towing, hauling, and fun on sport riding end. The suspension and drive line are top notch. Will be going on a good fun ride next week, and have little doubt it will perform great on the trail. Long time sportsman owner that moved up to a SXS, and am very glad with my purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great machine! I currently own two RZR’s, a Ranger and this General. I classify the General as between the RZR’s and Ranger. Great suspension and ride control like the RZR’s and utility capable with the dump box. Easy in and out of cab. I’m 6-1 and wish the cab was a little taller and a little deeper for legs. Otherwise, great machine, I did put some aftermarket soundproofing in to lessen cab noise.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Nice machine, but low quality. I have this machine for about 4 months. It’s been a fun, comfortable machine. The drawback is quality is very low. Attention to detail just isn’t there when it comes to fit and finish. One shock clunks on every little bump. Some of the body lines don’t line up, radio doesn’t work at times. For the price paid, I would think Polaris would have more quality behind their machines.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Love the ride but have had issues I bought the bike in June from a dealership out of town because of availability. Dealer was awesome (Rivercity in the sault). Love the bike it rides and performs like we anticipated. The issues started right away though, we had issues with a leak and the clutch still has issues. This is the most disappointing as there is no fix from Polaris on a very expensive product.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good features, just a few kinks... I got mine about 3 months ago, and instantly realized there are a few problems. First the belt runs in the housing, and I tried to submit a claim but Polaris said the issue has already been resolved, which is wrong because obviously it’s rubbing! Second, my speakers make a hard knock when being turned off every now and then... probably being back fed from somewhere

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice cart I’ve had my cart fir three months. It spend two months at dealership waiting on a fuel plump from pularis direct. After two weeks initial clutch problems Riv it’s missing plus screws. Doors still not aligned. Going for it first service next week. Still clutch noise. I thing pularis should pay for first service since I made two payments while it was waiting on parts

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great machine, good features I purchased the General a few months back, so far we have been pretty happy with it. It has great power and great handling. We have the ride command.... for the money, not sure it is worth it. The radio is fine, if you are sitting still or going slow. You cannot hear it under power. The features of the ride command, are really just "gimmicky" at best.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from all aroud great machine I bought this machine three months ago, and it is the best. I love the feature of turf mode where only one rear tire pulls, you do not tear up your yard or driveway when riding. I have ben out to west Virginia on hatfield and McCoy trails once already. We rode 130 miles and you feel like you have been riding in a car on the highway all day.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from very comfortable good combination of sport and utility very comfortable seating for a tall person im 6'3 and am extremely comfortable in this machine its been great around the farm and done really well trail riding with friends who are in rzr turbos and other turbo sxs but is still more work friendly on the farm than those machines best of both worlds

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Fun 2nd polaris, first general. Over all its amazing. 2 issues right away before ever getting it to a trail was not pleasing going to the dealership in the morning for repairs but outside that love it! Would be 5 star if it was not leaking oil and steering worked correctly in the first 2 miles of driving it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Solid Performance Owned dirt bikes and ATV's for years. This is my first UTV. Took it to Arizona for the winter and it performed very well. Road with dozens of friends and conquered much of the Peace Trail. I will say that my friends (who've ridden UTV's for years) were impressed of the ride and performance of the General

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this machine. The general looks great has lots of power in hand as well. Unfortunately I had to put in a warranty claim on the front tires as they were too far at a balance to have them balanced. I did just receive a recall notice on the steering column with a do not ride warning. Hope to have it fixed soon.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome machine New to side by siding and wasn’t sure what to expect. Friends took us mountain riding in British Columbia and we went through terrain, climbing areas I would not have thought possible. We’re up at 8000 feet elevation in two feet of snow and still going up. Am regretting not doing this years ago

Rated 3 out of 5 by from something always broke I have had it for 3 months and the belt stretched, the radio started give me trouble, now the amp is out and on back order. The doors keep getting looser the lock and ride windshield sucks. My friend bought a Honda. Its faster stronger and was cheaper! Polaris needs to step up it's game.
